The best printer deals online and in-store

Establishing the best price for your purchases has become even more relevant with the VAT rise forcing us to tighten our belts another notch – and with printers incurring VAT, this week's Price Check could prove crucial for your wallet.

The best printer deals online and in-store

We have chosen four recommended machines ranging in price from £55 to £200. They all have one thing in common – they prove that shopping around is vital to save money as prices vary from the highest to the lowest store by at least 23%, and in some cases by nearly 50% – more than making up for any VAT increase.

Rated highly by The Gadget Show last summer, this budget "most-in-one" machine prints, scans and copies. One of the major frustrations of printer purchasers is the cost of the ink. However, Kodak's own pigment ink cartridges allow you to replace the individual ink that has run out, rather than replacing a combined unit that may have oceans of cyan left in it.

The best online price is with both Amazon and Ryman at £59.99. However, if you add in the voucher code you gain a further £5 discount with Ryman, making this a bargain-buster at £54.99, a much-improved price than the £72 available elsewhere. The top in-store price is also with Ryman at £59.99, but the offer runs out on January 9.
